1. Introduction

Persian.Kids is a children's educational platform designed for Iranian diaspora families to teach Persian language, culture, history, and geography through interactive lessons, games, and stories. It also connects parents with independent Persian-language teachers for live online classes. We are deeply committed to protecting the privacy and safety of our users, especially children.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed Persian.Kids with a privacy-first approach — we collect the minimum information needed to provide the service.

1.1 Who Operates Persian.Kids

Persian.Kids is a product of Hubizens LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Delaware, United States. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Hubizens LLC. Ali Jazayeri is the founder of both Hubizens and Persian.Kids, which is why his name may appear as the developer or provider in app store listings and other app information.

Hubizens is a small, independent team. We have no legal, financial, operational, or organizational affiliation with any government, governmental body, or other institution, in Iran or anywhere else. Persian.Kids is not endorsed by, funded by, or accountable to any such body.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Parent Account Information

When a parent creates an account, we collect:

  • Email address — Used for account creation, authentication, password recovery, service notifications, and optional progress reports about your child's learning.
  • Password — Stored securely using industry-standard one-way hashing. We never store or have access to your plain-text password.
  • Display name — This can be any name or nickname of your choosing. It does not need to be your real name.

2.2 Child Profile Information

When a parent creates a child profile, we collect:

  • Display name or nickname — This can be entirely made up. We do not require or verify the child's real name.
  • Grade level — Used to provide age-appropriate educational content.
  • Avatar selection — A chosen cartoon avatar for the child's profile.

Children do not have their own accounts, email addresses, or passwords. A child profile exists only inside the parent's account.

2.3 Learning Progress Data

As children use the app, we automatically collect:

  • Lesson completion status, scores, and time spent on activities.
  • Badges earned, streaks, and XP (experience points).
  • Exercise responses (e.g., which answers were selected in quizzes).
  • Written answers to open-ended reflection questions, where a lesson includes one.

This data is used to track learning progress, provide feedback to parents, and personalize the educational experience. It is stored in association with the child's profile and is accessible only to the parent who created it. Some written answers are scored automatically by an AI grading provider — see Section 9.

2.4 Teacher Account Information

Adults may apply to join Persian.Kids as teachers. A teacher account is a separate, adults-only account type. When someone applies as a teacher, we collect the information they choose to provide for their profile:

  • Email address and password — Same as any account.
  • Display name — Unlike parent accounts, a teacher's display name is expected to be their real, professional name, because it is shown publicly in our teacher directory.
  • Profile photo — Optional. Stored in our cloud storage and served through signed, time-limited URLs.
  • Headline and biography — Optional, in Persian and/or English.
  • Country, city, and time zone — Provided by the teacher, used to display location and convert class times. This is self-declared, not detected from a device.
  • Subjects taught and optional fees — The subjects a teacher offers and, if they choose to publish it, the fee they charge.
  • Years of experience — Optional.
  • Optional contact channels — A contact email, phone number, WhatsApp number, or Telegram handle, if the teacher chooses to publish them so parents can reach them directly.
  • Optional social links — Instagram, Telegram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, or a personal website.
  • Application status — Whether a profile is in draft, pending, approved, rejected, or suspended, and the reason given for a rejection.

We do not collect government-issued ID documents, background-check results, tax identifiers, or bank or payment account details from teachers. We do not process payments for teachers.

2.5 Communication and Class Data (Adults Only)

Persian.Kids includes communication features between adult account holders and approved teachers. Children have no access to any of these features. We collect and store:

  • Messages — The text of one-to-one messages between a parent and a teacher, who sent them, and when they were sent and read. Messages are plain text only; the app does not support attachments, photos, or voice messages. Messages are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted.
  • Class requests — The subject requested, whether it is online or in person, a free-text proposed time, the parent's message, and any additional details the parent chooses to write (for example, a child's age, level, or learning goals). What appears here is entirely what the parent types.
  • Class enrollment — Which parent accounts have access to which scheduled sessions, and how they got access (a direct invitation or a shared link).
  • Reviews — A parent's rating and written review of a teacher, which is shown publicly on that teacher's profile (optionally without the parent's name). Teachers may also leave a private rating of a parent, which is never shown publicly and is visible only to that parent and to our admin team.
  • Reports — If you report a teacher or contact support, we store the report and the contact details you provide with it.

2.6 Live Video Classes

Live classes are delivered through Daily.co, a third-party video service. Only the teacher and enrolled adult account holders can join a class room.

  • We do not record classes. Every class room is created with recording explicitly disabled. We do not record, store, or have access to the audio or video of any class.
  • Your device's camera and microphone are used only while you are actively in a live class, and only if you turn them on.
  • We receive session metadata from Daily.co — that a meeting took place, when it started and ended, and who joined — so we can show attendance and support the class schedule.

2.7 Technical and Device Information

  • IP address and approximate location — When you sign in or your session is refreshed, we record the IP address of the request and store a single last-known location record for your account: country, region, city, and the approximate coordinates of that city. This is not your device's GPS position — it is a rough, city-level estimate derived from your IP address. The lookup is performed against a MaxMind GeoLite2 database that runs on our own servers, so your IP address is not sent to a third party for this purpose. We use this to understand in aggregate which countries and regions our users are in, and to investigate abuse or suspicious account activity. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or tracking you across other services. There is one such record per account, overwritten each time — we do not build a location history.
  • Push notification tokens — If you enable notifications on a mobile device, we store the notification token issued by Apple or Google, the platform (iOS or Android), and a device identifier supplied by the app. These are used only to deliver notifications you have opted into, such as class reminders and new message alerts. Tokens are deleted when you sign out, when the token stops working, and when you delete your account.

2.8 Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:

  • Precise device location — We never request or access GPS or device location services. The only location information we hold is the coarse, city-level estimate described in Section 2.7 and any location a teacher types into their own profile.
  • Real names of children — Child profile names can be nicknames or made-up names, and we do not verify them.
  • Contact information from children — Children have no email address, phone number, or contact details in Persian.Kids.
  • Contacts from your device — We never read your address book or contact list.
  • Camera or microphone outside a live class — Camera and microphone are used only during a live video class an adult chooses to join. Audio recording is otherwise available only for admin content creation and is never activated for children.
  • Advertising identifiers — We do not collect IDFA, Android Advertising ID, IMEI, or any hardware identifier for advertising or cross-app tracking.
  • Browsing history — We do not track your activity outside of Persian.Kids.
  • Social media data — We do not integrate with or read data from any social media platform. Teachers may voluntarily publish links to their own social profiles; we do not access those accounts.
  • Financial information — Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple, Google, or Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details.
  • Biometric data — We do not collect fingerprints, face scans, or voiceprints.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used for:

  • Providing the educational service — Delivering lessons, tracking progress, and awarding achievements.
  • Account management — Authentication, password recovery, and account settings.
  • Operating the teacher directory — Displaying approved teacher profiles so parents can find and evaluate a teacher.
  • Enabling adult communication — Delivering messages and class requests between parents and teachers.
  • Scheduling and running live classes — Creating class rooms, granting access to enrolled parents, and sending reminders before a class starts.
  • Progress communication — Sending optional progress reports and grading notifications to the parent's email address.
  • Safety and moderation — Reviewing teacher applications, investigating reports, and acting on violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Security — Protecting accounts against unauthorized access and abuse.
  • Service improvement — Understanding general usage patterns (e.g., which lessons are most popular) to improve the educational content. This is done using aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data only.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Specifically:

  • We do not share data with advertisers — there are no advertisements in Persian.Kids.
  • We do not share data with data brokers or analytics companies.
  • We do not share data with other educational platforms or services.
  • We do not share a child's profile or learning progress with teachers or any other user. A teacher never receives your child's profile, progress, scores, or activity.

4.1 What Other Users Can See

  • An approved teacher's profile is public. Their photo, name, headline, biography, city and country, subjects and any published fees, years of experience, any contact channels and social links they chose to publish, and their average rating and reviews are visible to anyone browsing the directory, including people who are not signed in.
  • What a teacher sees about a parent. When you message a teacher, request a class, or join their session, the teacher sees your account display name — which does not have to be your real name — and whatever you choose to write to them. Teachers do not receive your email address, your children's profiles, or their learning data.
  • Reviews. A review you write about a teacher appears publicly on their profile with your display name, unless you mark it anonymous. Our admin team can always see who wrote a review, for moderation purposes.

4.2 Service Providers

We share the minimum necessary information with the infrastructure and service providers that make the platform work — for example, our cloud host, our email sender, and our video provider. They act on our instructions, may use the data only to provide their service to us, and may not use it for their own purposes. The list is in Section 9.

4.3 Legal and Safety

The only other circumstances in which we may disclose information are:

  • When required by law (e.g., a valid court order or legal process).
  • To protect the safety of our users or the public in emergency situations.
  • To investigate a report of abuse, harassment, or a violation of our Terms of Service. In such a case, our admin team may review the content of the messages involved.

5. Advertising

Persian.Kids is completely ad-free. We do not display any form of advertising — no banner ads, no video ads, no sponsored content, no in-app promotions from third parties. Our revenue model is based solely on optional subscriptions. Your children will never be exposed to advertisements while using our platform.

6. Where Your Data Is Stored, and Who Can Access It

  • Location. All user data is stored in private, protected infrastructure hosted in data centers located in the United States. If you use Persian.Kids from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and stored there.
  • Encryption. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL).
  • Passwords. Hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plain text.
  • Internal access. Access to user data within our team is restricted by role and operational need. Not every member of the team can access all information, and access to production systems is limited to authorized personnel.
  • External access. No individual or organization outside our team has direct access to user data, other than the infrastructure and service providers listed in Section 9, to the extent technically necessary to operate the platform.
  • Content assets. Educational content assets (images, audio) and uploaded profile photos are stored in secure cloud storage and served through signed, time-limited access URLs.
  • Review. We conduct regular security reviews of our systems and code.

For security reasons, we do not publicly disclose detailed information about our infrastructure, security architecture, or internal access mechanisms.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data, learning progress, messages, class history, and reviews for as long as your account is active. The last-known location record described in Section 2.7 is a single record per account that is overwritten on each sign-in, not a history.

You may delete your account from within the app, or by contacting us. When an account is deleted, we permanently delete the data associated with it — including all child profiles and their learning progress, notification tokens, and location record — within 30 days. Messages you sent to another person may remain visible in that person's copy of the conversation, and published reviews may remain, shown without your name.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Persian.Kids is designed to be used by children under the supervision and consent of their parents. We take children's privacy very seriously:

  • Children cannot create accounts on their own — only parents can create child profiles.
  • We collect only the minimum information necessary for the educational service to function.
  • Children's profiles do not require real names — nicknames and made-up names are encouraged.
  • We do not collect personal information directly from children.
  • Parents have full visibility into and control over their children's data and can request deletion at any time.
  • There is no user-generated content from children that is publicly visible.

Children cannot message or contact anyone. Persian.Kids has no child-to-child, child-to-teacher, or child-to-stranger communication of any kind. The teacher directory, messaging, class requests, reviews, and live video classes are adults-only features that exist entirely within the parent's or teacher's own account and are not reachable from a child profile. A child profile is never listed anywhere, never visible to a teacher, and cannot send or receive a message. If a parent joins a live class and lets their child watch alongside them, that happens under the parent's supervision, in the parent's own session, and the class is not recorded.

Verifiable Parental Consent. By creating an account and adding child profiles, the parent provides verifiable parental consent for the collection and use of their child's information as described in this policy. The parent may review their child's information, revoke consent, and request deletion at any time by contacting us at the address in Section 12.

9. Third-Party Services

9.1 Providers That Process Your Data

The categories below, and the purposes they serve, are what govern how your information may be shared. We also name the provider we currently use for each one, so you can see exactly who is involved rather than having to take a category on trust. These providers act on our instructions and may use the data only to provide their service to us.

  • Cloud hosting, database, file storage, and outbound email — currently Amazon Web Services, in United States regions. This is where your account, your children's profiles, and their learning progress are stored.
  • Live video for classes — currently Daily.co. Handles the real-time audio and video stream for a class while it is running. Rooms are created with recording disabled, and no audio or video is stored by us or by the provider.
  • Push notification delivery — Apple Push Notification service on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android. These receive the notification token for your device and the content of the notification being delivered.
  • Subscription payments on iOS — the Apple App Store. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy; we receive only a confirmation that a subscription is active.
  • Subscription payments on the web and on Android — currently Stripe. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle payment information. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Automatic scoring of written answers — currently OpenAI. Used to score free-text answers in certain reflection exercises. Only the exercise prompt and the answer text are sent. No name, email, profile, or account identifier is included, so the request is not linked to a child's identity.

If we change a provider, we will update this section. The purposes above will not change without notice to you as described in Section 11.

9.2 Technology We Use That Receives No User Data

For completeness, two technologies are worth naming precisely because your data does not reach them:

  • MaxMind GeoLite2 — The IP-to-city lookup described in Section 2.7 is performed against a database file that runs on our own servers. Your IP address is never sent to MaxMind. This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from maxmind.com.
  • ElevenLabs — Used by our team to produce Persian narration for story audio before it is published in the app. It is part of how we make content, not part of how we run your account. No user data is ever sent to this service.

9.3 What We Do Not Use

We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking, advertising, attribution, or social media SDKs in our application. There is no third party receiving your data for any purpose of its own.

10. Your Rights

As a user of Persian.Kids, you have the right to:

  • Access — View all data we have stored about your account and your children's profiles.
  • Correction — Update or correct any information in your account at any time.
  • Deletion — Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Data portability — Request a copy of your data in a standard format.
  • Withdraw consent — Stop using the service at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
  • Control your visibility — If you are a teacher, you may edit or remove any part of your public profile, turn off in-app messages, or block a specific parent at any time.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through a notice in the application. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of Persian.Kids after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact Us
